Day 4 - April 1 - Sedona

This morning we left our hotel in Flagstaff and headed south toward Phoenix.  A few people suggested we try to visit Sedona, Arizona while we're out here, so today we drove through Oak Creek Canyon to Sedona on our way south.  Sedona is medium-sized city nestled in canyons of red sandstone formations (the Red Rocks of Sedona)....just southwest of Flagstaff.  We hadn't done much research about Sedona, but we're definitely glad we decided to stop by!

Although we only spent one afternoon here, it's easy to list it as one of the most beautiful places we've ever been.  The red sandstone formations reminded us of last summer's vacation to Garden of the Gods in Colorado, but the sandstone in Sedona is much bigger.  The pictures don't really capture how beautiful this area is.  The canyon is more than 20 miles long, and there are views like this during most of it:
